Make your own banners

Here is my second project this week for Heartfelt Creations.
I made these layered pennants by using my square Cut Mat Create dies !

I have struggled so many times to cut the perfect banner I can layer with.
This technique is so easy to do and involves no measuring!
1. You will need 2 pieces of card if you wish to layer the banners.

1 x 3" x 6" and 1 x 4" x 6 1/2" and a square die from the Cut Mat
Create 2A die set.

2. Die cut the card with the corner of the square.
To get a central shape ensure the edge of the card is on the inner
of the die on both sides of the card.

3. You will have a banner shape piece of card, repeat the die cutting
process for the other piece of card and you will be able to layer
the pieces together.

The card I made is a 7" x 5" card so the pieces fit that size card.

To make the card I used the following:
459222 Paper Blossoms Tools
452255 Grand Calibur
HCD 748 Arianna Blooms Dies
HCDP1 244 Arianna Blooms Paper Pad
HCPC 3608 Arianna Blooms PreCut set
HCD2-751 Cut Mat Create 2A die
HCD 736 Classic leaf die
HCPC 3545 Open Leaf PreCut set
HCD1-740 Sweet Juliet Die

Other Products Used : White centura pearl card, pearl gems, glitter glue,
3D Foam pads, edger tool, Inks; Brown, Peeled paint, and Victorian Velvet Distress inks.

Cut a tent card 7" x 5". Cut a piece of card 3" x 6" and a piece 4" x 6 1/2". Using
the square die cut them along the bottom to make the pennant shape
see instructions above how to do this.

Use the edger tool on all sides of the pennant shapes. Adhere and layer onto the card
with 3D foam pads. Die cut the swirly leaves in white card. Die cut the Sweet Juliet flower
and adhere pearl gems onto it. Stamp, cut, colour and shape the flowers and leaves. Adhere
pearl gems into the flower centres and glitter the petals. Adhere the flowers and leaves
to your card and your project is complete.

  7. What a great idea, How do you line the square die up accurately to get the cut in the right place?

    1. Hi Denise! Ensure the outer sides of the card touch the inner of the die, it will cut in the centre! You can do this with a square punch too!
