Sunflower Tutorial

I LOVE this time of year! I get to make lots and lots of sunflowers!
I use them for some Thanksgiving cards I have to send to the USA and I
have a few birthday cards in autumn too!

Here is a quick & EZ tutorial for you to make them too!
Have fun!

Stamp the Classic Sunflower in brown ink on white card and shade with Cantaloupe ink.

Die cut the flowers with the Classic Sunflower die and shade the petal tips with
Memento Potters Clay ink.

Using the flower shaping tools spray the backs of the flowers with water and then
shape each petal so that they come inwards.

Turn the flower over and using a circular motion around the line shown in the
picture above shape so that the petal come upwards.

Pinch the tips of the flowers for added shape. Using a sponge
apply glue over the flowers and cover with Crystal Clear Powder.

Add Prills to the flower centres and your flowers are complete!
Have fun making flowers, these sunflowers go perfect with the new
Beary Fun Retreat collection! Perfect for all your autumnal cards!

Make a Window shaped card - Tutorial

Creating a shaped card with the Botanic Window Die is EZ
and can be done in 30 mins or less!

I was LIVE on Heartfelt Creations FaceBook Page
showing you just how EZ this really is! Watch HERE

There are two ways to make a card, a side fold or a tent fold.
Here is how to make a tent fold card first.

Step 1: Take a 4 1/2" wide and 6" long tent folded piece of card.

Step 2: Lay the card over the die so you have a gap in the top
of the arch as in the pic below.

Step 3: Run through the die machine and you should have a die cut like the one below.

Step 4: Cut a single die cut and adhere this to the front of the card
and you have a card base to work from.

For the card above I die cut the outer of the inner window die,
inked the edges, stamped a sentiment and adhered with 3D
foam pads  and added flowers and leaves and it's done!

To make it as a side fold card you will need a side folded piece of card
4 1/2" wide and 6" long.

Step 1: Lay the folded side of the card onto the die and tape down.
The fold needs to be on the inside of the outer cut line down the
bottom side of the die as in the pic below.

Step 2: Run this through your die cutting machine and your die cut
will be as the pic below.

Step 4: Cut a single die cut and adhere this to the front of the card
and you have a card base to work from. I cut mine in pink paper
from the Winters Eve collection.

For the above card I cut the outer die of the inner window using
paper from the Winters Eve collection and then die cut the inner part
to create the window bars from pink paper.
Adhering both to the card front and adding flowers and a sentiment.

There are so many options of how you can make this card, use clear card to
see through the front to the inside and add scenic papers inside the card!

Add a scenic die cut to the front and decorate with flowers.

Make the front with clear card and see right through so the inside becomes part of the front!

Or just cut out and layer all the bits on the front!
The choice is yours! Just have fun making some cards with this die!

This shape is perfect for wedding, christening, baptism,
confirmation and sympathy cards and invitations!
Happy crafting!

and shade upwards from the centre.

Step 4: See the photo for what your flower should now look like.

Step 5: Using the Deluxe Flower Shaping tool set shape the leaves from the back of the die cut.

Step 6: Turn the leaves over and press down into the centre of the leaves.

Step 7: Shape the flowers from the back with the shaping tool.

Step 8: Turn the flower over and press down in the centre so the petals raise.

Step 9: Using a sponge and dries clear glue, apply the glue over the flowers and cover with Crystal Clear Powder to create a sparkly flower! TIP: Press down in the centre again with your shaping tool to bring the petals back up.

Christmas Shadow Box

I wanted to share with you a project I made LIVE on Heartfelt Creations
Facebook page before I went on holiday!
You can watch the video HERE to see all the measurement and
how I made this wrap around shadow box.

I was inspired by the one Rajni Chawala made when these
Foldout Card blanks and dies were released.
I finally got to make one too!

I made a pocket on the inside so messages and photo's can be added.

And the shadow box itself I put all the presents inside to make it feel as though they
were beneath the tree Christmas morning!

I wanted to create a story from the front, it's like you are looking inside through the window
and then when you open it up you see all the gifts and the little girl
by the Christmas tree. Of course I used lots of glitter on this!!! lol!

I had such crafty fun with this project! I can't believe I have only just used this shadow box now when it was released last year!

Have lots of crafty fun!

I used the following stamps and dies to make my project.

Sparkly Christmas Shoes & Tutorial

Join me LIVE on Heartfelt Creations Facebook page today at 3pm UK time
for some crafty fun making these two gorgeous sparkly shoes and
vellum poinsettias!

Don't worry if you miss it you can still watch!

The show above was made to look like it had been walking in snow,
I am just loving the Frosting Powder to make snowy effects with!
I can see there will be lots more projects with this on!! lol!

For this card I used a technique inspired from Emma Lou using the
stamps from the Festive Holly collection and lots of glitter and glass shards!
I made the shoe sparkly and left the flower not!

Here is a quick tutorial on how I made sparkly vellum poinsettias that
were inspired by designer Patricia Manhire. You can see her beautiful project HERE.

I used paper from the Festive Holly paper pad and decoupaged up the pattern
on the heel. I did think this would make and amazing winter wedding card!

Here is how I made the beautiful flowers:

Step 1: Stamp the flowers on vellum and heat emboss with a gold embossing powder.
Die cut the flowers with the coordinating die.

Step 2: Colour the backs of the flowers with red ink.

Step 3: From the back shape the petals using the flower shaping tool.
Turn them over and press down in the centre to raise the petals.

Step 4: Using a sponge apply glue gently over the petals and cover
with the Crystal Clear powder.

Step 5: Adhere prills to the flower centres.

Use your sparkly flowers on your Christmas projects and have fun!
Make sure you share your projects with us on the Heartfelt Facebook page
we love to see what you make too!
