Double sided Xmas tags

I made these double sided gift tags with the new
Wow it is just gorgeous !

I used Spellbinders labels 20 for the tag, cutting it out of
card printed on both sides.
The large die and the next sixe down .
I used the printed elements in my Design software,
adding the string of stars to decorate the tree
and placing  the characters in front of the tree.
Everything is from the CD except the ribbon of course !
Oooh wouldn't that be cool if you could get ribbon like that !

I used inks around the sentiment and glittered up all the snow
and edges of the tag and sentiment.

Have a great weekend!

In Loving Memory Decoration

Well I just couldn't resist making one of these.
I was making some gift tags and I was so
inspired by the bauble Linda Kleman made here.
Plus I had papers and flowers left over from my previous
projects, what a great way to use up scraps!

Our Christmas tree is a memory tree and we make a bauble every year.
This year this is mine!

I used the following:
Heartfelt Creations Vintage Floret Paper pad
Heartfelt Creations Vintage Floret die set
Heartfelt Creations Delicate Asters die set
Spellbinders Labels 20
Other items are Pearl gems, Vintage Rose and Peeled Paint distress inks,
double sided tape, hot glue and gun, glitter glue, ribbon,
string pearls, crystal gem and 3D foam pads.

To make it I cut out two of the large die in the paper
and a photograph using the next sized die.
I printed the sentiment and cut it out with the same die as the photo.
Adhere the two large die cuts back to back so the papers are the same.
Adhere the photo to the front using the foam pads and stick pearls around the edge.
Using distress inks rub the ink over the words inside the die itself.
Adhere to the back using foam pads.
Cut, adhere, glitter and ink the flowers and leaves.
Place a crystal gem in the middle of the flower.
Adhere to the decoration.
Punch a hole in the top and thread ribbon and string pearls through.
Tie in a knot and your project is complete.

Right I had better get back to my gift tags !
Hopefully they will be on my blog tomorrow !!
Happy crafting.

Rosette gift tags.

Its my turn to do a tutorial this week
over at Polka Doodles.
The challenge this week is
CANDY COLOURS
(Click on the pic to go to the challenge)

I thought I would make these bright
 and cheerful gift tags.
I used Bonbon Belles CD
for my papers and my embellies.
Stick with me, there are a lot of photos !

I realised making another project
I had no idea how to make a rosette !
So I thought I would use one in my tutorial this week.
Sometimes we overlook the simplest of things!

You will need a score board, hot glue gun, papers
circle dies - a large and a small one.
Hole punch tool, gems, glitter glue
String, embellishments for decoration.

Cut strips of paper 1 1/4" x 11"

Score a strip of paper every 1/4"
Then fold into a concertina

Hot glue the ends together so it makes a circle.
Now form a circle by gathering the folds together
and folding it in on itself to make a circle.
HOLD tight with your fingers !

Hot glue onto the large circle and place the
folded paper onto the glue, holding in position until it is dry.
(Only a few seconds)
Then hot glue the smaller circle on top of the paper.

Now punch a hole in one of the scallops of the tag.
Cut along the edge of the paper circle
into a zig zag using the folds.

Tie a piece of string through the hole.

Now the tag is ready for decorating !

I used my Stickles to glitter around all the edges.
When it was dry I stuck my sentiment from the CD
on the middle then decorated with
butterfly and flowers and of course gems !

Right I'm off to decorate the other ones
Oranges, Pinks and stripes !!!
Have fun !!

Elegant Gift Box

Yes this really is a gift box !!
It is so easy to make too, but looks so intricate.
It is made using Heartfelt Creations papers and dies.
Check out their website its full of amazing inspiration.
My daughter has tried to take this into her room several times
for decoration ! Bless her, she is NOT having it !!! lol !
I actually was inspired by my Grandma again for this,
I always made her cards and boxes, for no there reason
than I knew she loved them ! It didn't need to be her birthday,
Christmas or any other occasion, I did it because it gave her pleasure.

What I used to make it:
Heartfelt Creations Vintage Floret Paper pad
Heartfelt Creations Vintage Floret die set
Heartfelt Creations Delicate Asters die set
Heartfelt Creations Decorative Lattice Swirl Die
Other products I used were, double sided tape, Hot glue and gun,
pearl gems, score board and tool, scissors.

How to make it !
There are obviously two pieces to make, the top and the bottom !
Lets start with the base.
* Take a 12x12 piece of paper from the pad and fold to make a star box.
Don't panic ..... follow these steps to fold into the box !
1. Fold in half horizontally, vertically and in both diagonals.
2. Bring the top and bottom corners together
(having the design of paper you want for the outer of the box on the outer of the folding)
and tuck in the other two sides.
3. Have the opening at the top and fold one side into the central fold.
open the flap and press it open. Tuck the side of the
flap under itself and repeat on all of the sides.
4. There will now be 4 narrow pointed flaps. Fold them down as far as you can.
5. Pull them open, pushing the box open, shaping with your hands.

* Die cut four of the lattice swirls and adhere under each flap.
* Cut and adhere four triangles of contrasting paper and cover each flap.
( I traced around mine onto the paper for an exact fit)
* Adhere each flap over the die cuts and add pearl gems along the edges.

Now for the lid !!
* Cut a 10 cm square of matching paper and score 1 cm from each edge.
make into a box base. This will make the piece that sits inside the gift box.
* Cut four of the lattice swirls and arrange on the top of the base of the box.
Trim the die cuts where necessary.
* Cut a 8 cm square co-ordinating piece of paper and adhere over the die cuts.
*Cut a 14 cm square piece of paper to match the paper over the flaps.
* Score at 1 cm and 4 cm from the edges, making into a box with the 1 cm scored
piece fringed so the box will adhere on top of the paper and die cuts.
* To make the handle, cut two strips of paper 21 cm x 3 cm and 6 lattice swirl cuts.
* Adhere the die cuts trimming them to one strip of paper
and then cover with the second strip and adhere to the box sides.
* Add pearl gems along the edges of the paper along the handle.
* Cut, ink, glitter and adhere the flowers and leaves, adding a crystal gem in the flowers.
* Adhere the flowers and leaves on the box, you can see from the
two photos above the different angles around the box where I have placed mine.

Your gift box is now complete !
Right I'm off to hide it from my daughter !! Have fun crafting !
